I wrote Transformational Mothering during my first years as a mother. I felt lost and I didn’t know why.  I wanted to be a mother.  I loved my son beyond all words.  Why did I feel so alone? 

It was easy to talk about the joys of motherhood with my friends and family, however there were few people I could talk to about the difficult times.  I was nervous about bringing it up.  I wondered, “Do other mothers feel this way?  Am I the only one struggling?”   

I began to write myself affirmations to help me through my day.  Soon these turned into prayers and stories.  Eventually, I squeezed in time between naps to begin writing prayers and affirmations for other mothers and Transformational Mothering was born. 

Becoming a mother was for me, the most difficult and rewarding spiritual journey of my life.  It was a rite of passage and it was the first thing I knew I could not do without God. 

I hope that this book will reassure you that you are not alone. 

I hope that it will make you laugh. 

I hope that it will be a resource to turn to when you are having a difficult day as well as when you have something to celebrate. 

I pray that it will illuminate the role of mothers and the sacred role that we play in the lives of our children.
